And Now For Something Completely Different.

That last post left a bad taste, or was in poor taste, or something. Rather than leaving a whine hanging at the top of my blog, let me offer this:

Guess what's sitting on my kitchen table right this minute, fresh from the hands of the Postman?

Photobucket

As Koolaid Man would say, "OH YEAHHHH."

Because here's a reason to be positive: the sun is shining, Mr. Milkweed is searing tofu for dinner right this very minute, Eva is bathed and tucked into bed, and the whole night stretches ahead for teenage angst and glittering boyfriends. The fates conspired against me and I missed it in the theater, but tonight the house becomes a cinema pour deux.

Thank you, Netflix.

The book was better, of course. The movie was nice and moody, but I swear there's only so much teenage angst I can take outside of the classroom. And the newbie-actor "eh" or "ah" or "uh" breathy sounds after EVERY FREAKING LINE OF DIALOGUE were enough to make me want to smack a bitch.
