c25K, Day Three

As E.T. said, "Ouuuuuccchhhh."

Just finished my third day of training. It's beautiful outside, and my breathing is easier and easier. My legs and feet, however, are rebelling.

It's not going to make me quit. I'm having a flare-up of plantar faciitis in my left foot, and I'm sitting here rolling it on an ice pack as I type. If you've ever had issues with that, you know it hurts more during midnight trips to the bathroom than during exercise, but my knees? They were killing me the more I ran. I had to scrape a few seconds off of a couple of minutes because I just had to stop running.

I'm fully expecting that this is my body getting used to regular exercise again. Going off wisdom from bygone trips to the podiatrist, I'm going to switch out the Powerstep inserts in my Asics for new ones, and I'm going to pop ibuprofen regularly for a few days. I warmed up and cooled down for a few minutes extra today, and added some hamstring-friendly poses to the 10 minutes of post-run yoga. I need to look up calf stretches (calve stretches? Moo), because supposedly those help forestall PF issues.

Stay tuned. I'm trying to figure out the proper tweaks and tune-ups.

(BTW, I listened to music this time, and actually ran a few seconds too long getting into a Lady Gaga song. I'm not sure she can replace my beloved Josh and Chuck, but she'll need to be added to the mix.)
