What It's All About

Scenes from our week:

....SILEY BOAT! SILEY BOAT!

..."Popsicles or ice cream?" "Popsicles! Or, actually, Mommy, ice cream sandwiches."

...BRRRRR...BOAT!

....unholy shrieking

..."Eva, give him back his boat. EVA DAISY! One! Two!"

..."BABY...DIVES...CHOO CHOO!" "Siley says a baby drives a choo-choo!"...peals of laughter

..."MY MOMMY!" ("Hey, but...") "MY MOMMY!" ("But she's my mommy too!") "NO-- NO--- MYYYY MOMMY!"(*sigh* "Oh-kaaaay, Silas...")

...."Hi, I'm Eva Daisy! What's your name? I'm four even though this is a 3T dress."

..."FRIES?" "No, Silas. Those are green beans." loud spitting and gagging

...NITE NITE, SHOES. MOMMY...garbled LAY DOWN?

...singing:

Lay down, my dear Silas,
lay down and take your rest.
Oh won't you lay your head upon your Savior's breast?
I love you, but Jesus loves you the best,
and I bid you good night, good night, good night...
and I bid you good night, good night, good night...

Silas-centric! I have sung this song to both of my children every time I've put them down to bed, pretty much since they were born. Here's another one that I started just singing to Silas, but now for both of them:

It's much more lullaby-ish when I sing it.
