Musical Music Part II

The last Musical Music post I put up was the Great Lakes Swimmers and somewhat more lighthearted, but I really, really love this song. There's something for everyone here-- it's Ben Harper, so hello eye candy, but also, it's Ben Harper-- so hello amazing singer/songwriter. As a rule I'm 100% against most so-called "Christian" music, because most of it is TERRIBLE, but I love a really good gospel song. Also, did I mention that Ben Harper = STONE COLD FOX? Bonus that the Blind Boys of Alabama are singing backup.

How I am strong
is to know what makes me weak
How I am found
is to know just whom I seek
The gift of a blessing;
the burden of a sin--
Oh, turn, turn to Him

I want to be ready
I want to be ready
I want to be ready
Ready to put on
my long white robe

Nailed across
from hand to hand
for the sin
of every woman and man
And all upon His earth
is all within His plan,
and I know this shall be
my journey home.

I want to be ready
I want to be ready
I want to be ready
Ready to put on
my long white robe

Covet no silver
covet no gold
Reach your empty
hands for Him to hold
Up in His kingdom
glory shall be proclaimed--
Sing the song
and praise His name.

Yes, Ben Harper is awesome. And I will admit to being distracted by his handsomeness when I was supposed to jamming out to his stellar music.

Yum. Ben Harper.

Have you listened to Lincoln Brewster at all? He has some amazing worship music. I also enjoy Mercy Me, but that might be because I think their lead singer is hysterical (follow him on Twitter).

BTW, LOVE your new photo. Makes me actually miss Richmond :)

CARY. You were the one who first told me about him (and then who could forget his music in your wedding?)

Wendy, I'll check that music out, and thanks-- I love that picture, too! It's from our family picture session last September. It's almost time to get some more pics made, come to think of it!
