Well, I've been busy, see...

A baby! We did it! Due at the end of July!!!

*throws confetti*

Sorry about the lack of blogging, people, but really-- it's been all I can do to keep the house about 30% picked up and my personal hygiene to a reasonable level. Also, I've been teetering on the verge of oh-so-queasy-but-not-going-to-puke every evening since mid November. At this point I could buy stock in Schweppe's and be reasonably assured of an excellent retirement.

We are thrilled, though. And I'm extremely excited to be having a summer baby, and to have the option of going outside for walks and late, bright evenings in the back yard.

In other news, I've re-joined the ranks of working stiffs with a part-time job in retail, working evenings and weekends in hose and nice shoes selling wedding dresses to the masses. You can probably guess the name of my employer, but let's do this the right way and just call it The Store, shall we? No need to Dooce myself unnecessarily. There is no intellectual component and it has absolutely nothing to do with my master's degree, but (both happily and sadly) it pays almost exactly the same hourly rate as my last library job. Furthermore, it's enabling us to buy the occasional exciting grocery item (organic pears are featuring high on my list these days) and helping to fund important things like new socks and underwear, so it's a fabulous stop-gap until Mr. Milkweed can pick up some summer teaching (and I can sit my late third trimester ass down and not move until the baby arrives).

So, yeah... O frabjous day! Callooh, callay! I'm blogging in my joy!
